Hot Dogs, Baseball, Apple Pie and Chevrolet

This was my first round of sketches:
I was trying to make an illustration with all the elements signifying SOMETHING!
My instructor sent me "back to the drawing board" :-(
The second round of sketches.....
I decided that I was going to go with the simple solution and create a vignette of the images....
I was trying to keep with the vintage look of the pin up girl and the car.
And this was my FINAL PROJECT!
I used Acrylic paint and did a light wash first, then I painted my objects. I tried to keep the background all the same hues of blue to unify the illustration but I wanted a slight variations so there was a break between the pictures. Overall I am pleased with the finished product, I think if I had a little more time I would beef up each vignette a little more and make them each an individual illustration.
